Hi, I'm Joy – a filmmaker with over a decade of experience and a penchant for turning everyday stories into cinematic wonders. Graduating with a Film degree from LASALLE in 2012, my thesis film "That's Wicked!" unexpectedly snagged Best Documentary at the SIFF and partied at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam.

"That's Wicked!" didn't stop there; it spread its wings and graced many different film festivals around the world, connecting with audiences far and wide.

Since then, I have produced documentaries for government organisations, commercial clients and broadcasters, including Discovery Channel. My portfolio includes directing documentaries on topics ranging from dementia care to caregiver struggles in Singapore, as well as producing 24 documentaries on the Asian Insights and Design Innovation programme of DesignSingapore.

I am particularly proud of my work on the two 5-part documentary series, "We Are All Escapists" (2019) and "Fade to Black" (2020). The former explores the often-untold journeys of female ex-offenders in conservative Singaporean society, while the latter presents a poignant exploration of mortality and its impact on individuals and their loved ones.

I've freelanced as a video editor and worked as a content creator for corporate giants like The Pure Group, and currently, I'm the Creative Director at A Space Between, where I balance creative chaos with a touch of quirk. I'm the maestro working with project teams, overseeing the creative process from concept to execution. Feedback, troubleshooting, and making sure everything aligns with deadlines and budgets – that's my daily grind.

Passionate about storytelling that resonates, I'm always open to collaborative adventures.
